'The Pursuit of Happyness' is a feature film directed by Gabriele
Muccino, and was released in December 2006. It is based on the true
story of Chris Gardner, who was a salesman in 1981 in San Francisco. He
comes with an idea to sell bone-density scanners to doctors, and does
not have any other medium to earn. He wanted to make a career in the
medical field, but because of a few circumstances he could not make ends
meet, and soon became homeless with his son, Christopher.
The book has the same name, and was also released in 2006. It is written by the real life Chris Gardener, who is now a millionaire stockbroker, motivational speaker, and a philanthropist. As shown in the film, in reality, he had a very difficult time bringing up his son, Chris Gardner, Jr., who was a toddler when they were homeless. This astounding tale tells us about the strong attitude and amazing hard work of a person who cared for his son without a home for almost a year.
